On Wednesday Ms davis and Ms Dudding ( Ms Kirkpatrick's friends ) came to do a experiment ( Elephant toothpaste ) with Panmure Bridge School. Our aim for the elephant toothpaste was to see a chemical reaction. I thought the elephant toothpaste would erupt and make bubbles. We learnt about Physical change and Chemical change. Physical change is when you make something but cant change it like e.g. cake you can't wait for it to dry and hope you will get all the ingredients you started now. Chemical change is when it is changed forever. I learnt that elephant toothpaste is not actually elephant toothpaste.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Oobleck
This is my DLO. I worked collaboratively with Sakae and Nazella. We had to come up with what we wanted to find out, what you think would happened, instructions and conclusion. We made Oobleck and it was a solid but when we picked it up it was a liquid.

Experiment 2
On Wednesday we made oobleck. We got into groups of four. We got given a bowl, corn flower, food coloring and water. We mixed the water with the food coloring. Then we got the corn flower and tipped the water with the cornflower slowly. We mixed and mixed until we got the consistency we wanted. I was real proud with what we got. It was hard when we touched it and when we picked it up it was a liquid.

Expirement 1
On Tuesday we did a experiment with baking soda and vinegar. We had to get a bowl, baking soda, and vinegar. We first had to put the cup in a bowl and put baking soda in it. We then had to pour the vinegar into the baking soda. At the end we got a chemical reaction and it was a liquid.

Science Rules
This is a presentation showing the safety rules for a science experiment. We had to work collaboratively as a group and type down the safety rules. One safety rule I learnt was that nothing goes in your mouth.
