MIgration

This is my push and pull factors. If I had to migrate to another country I would migrate from Tonga to New Zealand. I would migrate because New Zealand has better health care and has heaps of food.

Our Trip to the Museum

I was so excited to hop on the bus.  My hands were shaking like a spinning machine.

One Monday Room 7, 8, and 5 went to the Auckland Museum. We got there a little late. Our first activity was to learn about migration. Our instructors told us a little story about migration. I learnt that the tapa is very important because the Cook Islands sleep on it and give it away as gifts. After that we made some tapa with paper and crayons. We had a board with a pattern on it and we had to trace around it with the crayons. The cook islands use a drum as a sign to call people over. Our next activity was to learn about the islands and why people migrate. We leant that the boat and the tapa was made out of coconut husk. The boat can only work if it is not stormy. We played a game. There were holes in the wood and we had to connect strings in it and the first person to get it in wins. We also had to make holes in the wood without using any electricity. After that we had a race, the first one to stop doing it would lose. We had lunch outside the museum. I was hopping up and down when I heard we were going to explore the whole museum. My favourite part was when we went to the volcano. It looked like a real home when we went in. It was talking to us about being prepared when there is a volcanic eruption happening. It was scary when the room shaked and  the lights went on and off. My second favourite part was when we went in the elevator. I felt a little bit dizzy. I liked going to the sea creatures. In the sea creatures area we saw a guinni pigs, fishes, starfish, and a crab. My legs were so tired from walking around the area. I enjoyed going to the museum.

My Sister sleepwalking

Creak! Creak! I heard creepy foot steps as I slid into my bed. At night time my mum, sister and myself went to sleep. We were all so tired. I was always scared when our light were off in our house. I always heard creepy and cranky noises in my dreams. I always looked in my closet because it was so dark and empty. I slowly looked away as I heard tumbling footsteps.

I tried not to make a sound. I heard footsteps going up and down. I heard the door handle moving like a slow turtle. The door was moving slowly as it opened with a squeak. I rolled to the other side of my bed and I found myself under my blanket. I hopped out of my bed and took little baby steps. As I got closer to the door, the  door started to open with a creak.

It opened with a scary noise. I took a deep breath and opened it very fast. I had a sneak peak out the door and saw my sister walking like a frighting zombie. I quickly ran to my bed and finally noticed that it was my sister.

Whoo! Whoo! I laughed out loud. I was so scared of nothing , I said. As I was laughing my mum woke up.

We were all laughing when I was so scared of my sister.

Duffy Show

PhotoPhoto

Today Panmure Bridge School  went to the Duffy theatre show. There were 3 main characters there names were Rosie, Uncle Bingo and Duffy. Rosie liked reading ballerina books.  The show was about Uncle bingo not  reading. They thought that he couldn't read but it was just because he was too lazy and couldn't find a good book. Rosie and  Duffy were trying to make him love books. They tried everything but it still didn't work.  The made a great big book and they told us to tell our favourite book and whisper it into the big book. Altogether it made a fantastic book. When he opened the book it came out wrong then it was planned. When Uncle bingo was going to his rugby game Rosie gave him a gift. He was so lazy to read a book anywhere. He opened the gift and it was a ballerina book. He looked at it and stared away and looked back. He got inspired by the book so he read it until it finished. When he played his rugby game he did some ballerina moves. Rosie and Duffy were so happy that he was reading now. Reading ballerina moves made him win his rugby game. Later on he loved reading books now. The message for the audience was to read, read , read.  My favourite part was when he was playing rugby and doing ballerina moves at the same time. I enjoyed watching the show.
