Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 Reflection

The part I really enjoyed the most through the term was working on Production. I enjoyed it because we got to do rock and roll dances and to do some acting in front of our parents. I enjoyed this because we got to do it for three days.

Something new I learnt was about all the different Landforms.

I am really proud of our class photo because we looked really smart.

Next term I need to work harder on understanding the questions for reading.

Creeping Along

                             Creeping Along
Today I learnt heaps of fact about Glaciers. Here are some of the facts. As the snow continues to fall it piles up into a thick white blanket. The first flake to land on the ground becomes squashed under the weight of those that follow. Slowly, under it's own weight, more and more snow turns to solid ice as all the air is squeezed out. Over months and weeks and sometimes years the ice builds up into a thick slab that fills the valley floor. The ice is very heavy and slippery and sometimes really really dangerous. Slowly it begins to move down the slope. A river of ice is better known as a glacier moves very gradually. Most of the glaciers would take about to slide the length of a classroom. I learnt that the upper surface is criss - crossed with deep cracks called crevasses. I thought that this book was really intresting and there was some really cool facts. The thing I would like to find out about is that why                                                aren't all the glaciers have a snout that moves downhill.

Landforms about Volcano's

Volcano

A volcano has molten rocks inside it. One example of a volcano is in White Island. The earths crust is moving in and out like a jigsaw puzzle. A volcano is an mountain or an hill that erupts out lava or magma. Hot lava and volcanic ash  and gases to escape from the magma chamber below the surface.
In the Northwestern  Pacific Ocean people are saying that there might be a large volcano on earth, and could rival the largest in the solar system. Volcano eruptions can cause a lot of damage to a lot of people. Erupting volcanoes can pose many hazards, not only in the immediate vicinity of the eruption. Magma is molten rock within the earths crust.             You can also find a volcanos in the South island such as White Island.

This is my research about volcano's. I learnt that the earths crust is moving in and out just like a jigsaw puzzle. I had fun looking for some images and some information. The part I didn't like about it was writing it in my own words. I had fun doing some research.

The Water Cycle

This is some facts about the water cycle. I really like doing this topic because I get to learn more intresting facts about the water cycle. Three of the facts were :
  • Water covers nearly three-quarters (75%) of the earth's surface.
  • Most of the earth's surface water is permanently frozen or salty.
  • Over 90% of the world's fresh water is found in Antarctica.

Visiting Bruce Potter

Bruce potter
Photo
On Wednesday Panmure bridge School went to the hall to listen to Bruce Potter. Bruce Potter was an good artist and Bruce Potter was the one who drew the pictures on the whale rider. When Bruce Potter showed us some of his books he sang us some funny songs. My favorite book was Penny the prolific poohing cow. The thing I liked about Bruce Potter was when he drew his cool pictures. I had heaps    of fun seeing his cool books and his drawings. I learnt that theres no right or wrong answer for when                                                                       your doing your art.

My Xtra Math Result

This is how well I went on Xtramath. I think I am getting better at my subtraction. I need to get better at knowing my subtraction really quickly. This is how fast I did it and I got only 1 smiley face which means I need to learn them a lot faster.
